The Contact Form element lets visitors send you a message from your Link in Bio page without seeing your email address. Use it for brand partnerships, bookings and general questions.

Before you start

Add the Contact Form to your page

  1. In the sidebar, click Link in Bio.
  2. On the Links tab, click Add.
  3. Choose Contact Form. For more on the Add menu, see Add elements to your page.
  4. On the Contact Form row, click the pencil icon to open its settings.

The settings are split into three numbered sections. The sections below follow them in order.

Check where responses are sent

Responses always go to your account email. Visitors never see this address.

  1. Find the Where responses are sent section.

  2. Read the line under it. It tells you which address new responses are delivered to.

  3. To use a different address, click Settings in that line and change your account email there.

If your email isn't verified yet, a warning appears in this section: Verify your email to receive messages: until then the form can't be sent. It means visitors can't send you anything through the form until you verify. Click Verify in Settings and follow the steps there.

Write the heading and description

  1. In Introduce the form, click the Heading (defaults to “Contact Me”) field. The hint reads Contact Me.
  2. Type your own heading, or leave the field blank to keep the default.
  3. Click the Short description field and say what visitors can contact you about. Leave it blank to use the default description.

Visitors see the heading and description above the questions. They never see your contact email.

Choose Simple email or Custom form

In Choose what to ask, pick one of two options.

  • Simple email: visitors enter their name, email and a message. All three are required.
  • Custom form: you build your own questionnaire.

Build a custom form

  1. Click Custom form. The editor lists the questions the form starts with.

  2. In a question's first field, type the question. The hint reads Question.

  3. Use the menu beside it to pick the type: Short answer, Long answer, Email, Phone, Dropdown, Checkboxes or Date.

  4. Fill in the extra field under the question:

    • For Short answer, Long answer, Email and Phone, type grey text for visitors in the field with the hint Placeholder text (optional).
    • For Dropdown and Checkboxes, type the choices in the box with the hint One option per line.
    • Date has no extra field.
  5. To make a question mandatory, switch on Required. Visitors see an asterisk beside required questions.

  6. To change the order, click the up arrow or the down arrow at the right of the question. The up arrow is greyed out on the first question and the down arrow on the last.

  7. To remove a question, click the trash icon.

  8. To add a question, click Add question and choose a type from the menu.

A new question comes with a ready-made label and placeholder or choices, which you can edit. If you change a question's type later, its label, placeholder and choices are replaced with the ready-made ones for the new type. Change the type first, then write your own wording.

Set the button text and success message

  1. Under the questions, click the Button text (defaults to “Send message”) field and type the label for the send button. Leave it blank for the default.
  2. Click the Success message (defaults to “Thanks — your message has been sent.”) field and type what visitors read after sending. Leave it blank for the default.
  3. When you're done, click Publish changes to put the form on your live page.

How a message reaches you

  1. A visitor fills in the form and clicks the send button. The button reads Sending… while the message goes out.
  2. Pinned emails the message to your account email.
  3. The visitor sees your success message.

With Simple email, the email's subject reads New message from, followed by the visitor's name. The visitor's address is attached, so you can reply to the email to answer them directly.

With Custom form, each answer appears in the email under its question, and the subject reads New message from a visitor via pinned.gg. Replying to the email doesn't reach the visitor automatically. Add an Email question so you have a way to contact them.

Tips

  • The form in the editor preview doesn't send anything. It only shows the success message. To test delivery, send a message from your live page.
  • If you leave the button text blank, the button reads Send message in Simple email and Submit in Custom form.
  • A visitor can send up to 5 messages an hour.
  • Your page can receive up to 30 messages an hour from all visitors together.

Troubleshooting
