The Events element shows your upcoming events on your Link in Bio page. Each event has buttons fans can use to add it to their calendar or follow a link. Use it for streams, launches and game nights.
Note
Available on the Creator and Business plans.
Add the Events element
In the sidebar, click Link in Bio.
On the Links tab, click Add.
Choose Events. The Add elements to your page guide covers the Add menu in more detail.
Find the Events row, which reads Upcoming events with add-to-calendar, and click the pencil icon on it.
Your events and their settings appear under Your events.
Change the heading
- At the top of the Events element, click the field with the hint “Heading (defaults to “Upcoming Events”)”.
- Type the heading you want above your events.
If you leave it empty, your page uses Upcoming Events. The heading publishes with your page, so click the publish button at the top right. Your changes are live once the button reads Published.
Create an event
If you haven't added an event yet, the list reads “No events yet. Add one and it shows on your page with add-to-calendar buttons.”
Under Your events, click New event.
In Event title, type a name. The hint shows examples such as “e.g. Charity stream, Match vs Rivals, Game night”.
In Description, say what's happening. This is optional. The hint reads “What's happening?”.
Set the Date and Time. A new event starts with today's date and the current time in your own time zone.
To add a picture, under Event image, click Add image. The size Pinned recommends is 800×320. The image shows on your Link in Bio page and on event cards.
Choose whether to show the event on your page with the Show on my link-in-bio page switch. It is on by default, and fans see the event with add-to-calendar buttons.
Click Create event.
The Create event button stays dimmed until the event has a title, a date and a time. To close the dialog without saving, click the X icon at the top right of the dialog or press Esc.
Your events are listed soonest first. They save as you go, so you don't need to publish to keep an event. They also show in the Events column of your Social Board and on Home.
Edit, hide or delete an event
Each event in the list has a switch, a pencil icon and a trash icon.
Edit an event
- Click the pencil icon next to the event.
- Change the title, description, date, time, image or the show switch.
- Click Save changes.
Hide an event from your page
- Turn off the switch on the event's row.
The row then reads Hidden from your page. The event stays in your list, and you can turn the switch back on at any time. If none of your events are switched on, the Events section doesn't appear on your page.
Delete an event
- Click the trash icon next to the event.
- Confirm when Pinned asks "Delete "your event title"? This can't be undone."
Set an event's buttons
Each event shows up to two buttons under its details. New events start with Google Calendar and Apple / iCal.
- On the event's row, click Buttons. The line beside it lists the buttons the event currently shows.
- For the first or second button, choose what it does from the dropdown.
- In the text field, type the words you want on the button. This is optional. The hint shows the default text.
- If the button needs a link, type it in the link field.
Button changes publish with your page, so click the publish button when you're done.
| Option | Default button text | What it does | Needs a link |
|---|---|---|---|
| Add to Google Calendar | Google Calendar | Opens Google Calendar with the event filled in | No |
| Add to Apple Calendar | Apple / iCal | Downloads a calendar file the fan opens in their calendar | No |
| Join Discord | Join Discord | Opens your Discord invite | Yes |
| Watch Live | Watch Live | Opens the link you enter | Yes |
| Custom Link | Learn More | Opens the link you enter | Yes |
| Hide Button | None | Shows no button in that spot | No |
When you pick a different option, the button text resets to that option's default. Leave the text field empty to use the default.
For Join Discord, the link field hint is “discord.gg/yourserver”. For the other link options, the hint shows an example web address. You can type the address without the https at the start.
If you choose Hide Button for both spots, the line beside Buttons reads No buttons and the event shows no buttons. If you hide only one, the other button fills the width.
Tips
- The events in the screenshots are from a demo account. Your events list starts empty.
- Your page shows only upcoming events. Once an event has passed, it no longer appears there.
- Switch an event off instead of deleting it if you may want it again.
- Only one event's buttons are open at a time. Opening another event's Buttons closes the first.
- Use the Social Board's Events column to keep your events in view while you plan posts.
Troubleshooting
The Buttons line says A button needs a link
One of the event's link buttons has no usable link, so it stays off your page. Open Buttons for that event and add the link.
I see Add a destination URL to show this button.
The link field is empty. Type the web address the button should open.
I see Enter a valid website URL.
Pinned can't read what you typed as a web address. Check it for typos and use a normal website address, or one like discord.gg/yourserver.
An event isn't on my page
Check these in order:
- The switch on the event's row is on.
- The event's date and time haven't passed.
- You've published your page, so the button reads Published.
