Create a Post lets you write a post once, choose which of your connected accounts it goes to, and either schedule it for later or publish it right away. Use it whenever you want a post out on one or more platforms without opening each one.
Note
Available on the Creator and Business plans.
Before you start
- Connect at least one account you want to post to. See Connect your social accounts and Connect Discord and Bluesky. To post blog articles to a store, see Connect your Shopify store. You can manage everything on the Connections page.
- Not sure which plan you're on? See Choose a plan and upgrade.
On the Free plan, the composer is replaced by a card titled Scheduling is a Creator feature. Click Upgrade to Creator to start. The card says Creator includes a 14-day free trial.
While Pinned checks your connected accounts, the composer shows Loading your connected accounts…. If none of your accounts can publish, the composer tells you so and links to Connections.
Write a post
In the sidebar, click Create a Post. The composer is on the left and a month calendar of your posts is on the right.
Under Post type, click Text, Image, Video or Story. The type decides which platforms you can choose later:
Post type Platforms that can take it Text X / Twitter, Bluesky, Facebook, Threads, Discord, LinkedIn, Shopify, Google Business Image X / Twitter, Bluesky, Threads, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, Discord, LinkedIn, Shopify, Google Business Video X / Twitter, Bluesky, Threads, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, Discord Story Facebook, Instagram Click the box under the post types and write your caption. On a text post the hint reads "What's happening?"; on other types it reads "Write a caption…". Stories have no caption box.
For Image, Video and Story posts, click the button under the caption: Add image, Add video or Add story media. Pick your file. Thumbnails appear under the button. To remove one, click the small x icon in its corner.
If you chose an X account, check the counter under the caption, such as 0/280. X posts are limited to 280 characters, or 25,000 for verified or Premium accounts. Links don't count toward the limit.
Media limits
- Images: up to 4 per post, as PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF.
- Video: one per post, up to 200MB, as MP4 or QuickTime. A video can't be mixed with images, so adding a video replaces any images you added.
- While a video uploads you see Uploading video… with a percentage.
Choose where it goes
- If you use workspaces or teams, open the Social set menu and pick a set to show only its accounts. Leave it on All accounts to see everything. The menu appears only when you have a set. See Work with workspaces and teams.
- Under Publish to, click each account you want to post to. A chosen account is highlighted.
- Read the line under the accounts, such as "Showing accounts eligible for text posts." Only accounts that can take your post type are shown.
You can pick one account per platform. Clicking a different account on the same platform replaces your choice, and clicking the chosen account turns it off. The exception is Google Business, where you can pick several locations. If you have only one account on a platform, Pinned selects it for you.
Post a video to Facebook
Facebook posts a video as a Reel. When you choose a Facebook account for a video post, a note appears under the accounts: "Facebook posts this video as a Reel: 3 to 90 seconds, and vertical (9:16) fills the screen."
If the video you attached is landscape, the note adds: "This video is landscape: Facebook asks for vertical video for Reels, so check how it looks after it posts." The post can still go out. Check how it looks on Facebook once it's posted.
If your browser can't read the video's length or shape, no landscape warning appears. Keep the video between 3 and 90 seconds either way.
Post to a team's accounts
If you're a member of someone else's team, the team's set appears in the Social set menu with the owner's name, for example "Brand deals — Ava Reyes's team". Pick it to see the team's accounts next to your own in Publish to.
Members can post to the owner's X, Threads, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Discord, Bluesky, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Google Business accounts. Hover over a team account to see which team and owner it comes through. The post is published through the owner's connection, so TikTok settings and Pinterest boards for these accounts come from the owner's account too.
You only see the accounts the owner lets the team post to. If an account you expect is missing, ask the owner to let the team post to it.
If a team's set has nothing you can post to, the composer says that the team has no accounts its members can post to yet. It asks you to contact the owner to add one or to let the team post to one, or to switch back to All accounts.
Fill in platform settings
When you choose certain platforms, a settings panel appears under Publish to.
| Panel | What you set |
|---|---|
| TikTok post settings | Send to TikTok as draft, Mark as AI-generated content, Who can view this post (you must pick one) and Allow comments. For video, also Allow Duet and Allow Stitch. Nothing is on by default. Turn on Disclose commercial content if the post promotes you, a brand, product or service, then choose Your brand, Branded content or both. Branded content can't be private. With Send to TikTok as draft on, you choose privacy, interactions and disclosures in the TikTok app when you finish the draft. |
| Instagram post settings | Tag accounts (up to 20) and Invite collaborators (up to 3): type a username and press Enter. Tagged and invited accounts must be public. For reels, also Custom cover image (Upload cover) and Trial reel, which lists its requirements: a Professional or Creator account, 1,000+ followers, a public profile, and no more than 5 trial reels a day. With a trial reel on, choose a Graduation strategy: Manual or Automatic. Not shown for stories. |
| YouTube post settings | Video title (up to 100 characters; it defaults to the first line of your caption), Tags (a 500-character budget, shown as characters remaining), Altered or AI-generated content and Custom thumbnail (Upload thumbnail). Custom thumbnails apply to regular videos, not Shorts, and need a verified YouTube channel. Your caption becomes the description, and a vertical video under 3 minutes becomes a Short. Community posts can't be made from Pinned. |
| Google Business post | A counter out of 1,500 characters and an optional Button (optional): No button, Learn more, Book, Order online, Buy, Sign up or Call now. Every choice except Call now asks for a Button link. Call now uses the phone number on your Business Profile. Updates usually expire after 7 days. |
| Shopify blog article | Blog (choose from Select a blog…), Article title, Excerpt (optional), Tags (optional) and Author (optional). Your caption becomes the article body, blank lines start new paragraphs, and the first image becomes the featured image. The article is visible as soon as it goes out. |
| Pinterest post settings | Board (choose from Select a board…), Pin title and Destination link — optional. Your caption becomes the pin description. Pins need an image, and the first image you attach is used. |
If you turn on Disclose commercial content for TikTok without choosing Your brand or Branded content, you see: You need to indicate if your content promotes yourself, a third party, or both.
Customize captions and add first comments
Both options sit under your accounts and aren't available for stories.
- To change the caption on one platform, click Customize captions per platform. A box appears for each chosen platform. Write the version for that platform, or leave the box empty to use your main caption. A box with its own text is marked custom.
- To add a comment under your post, click Add a first comment per platform. Write the comment in the box for each platform. On X it's posted as a reply under your post, and on other platforms as a comment. Leave a box empty to skip it.
There is no first-comment box for TikTok, Discord, Pinterest, Shopify or Google Business.
Schedule a post
Under Scheduling, click the day you want in the calendar. Days that have passed are greyed out, and you can schedule up to 35 days ahead. Use the arrows beside the month name to move between months.
Click the time field next to the clock icon and choose a time. Times are in 15-minute steps, and the field starts at the next free step. If you picked today, times that have passed are greyed out.
Click Schedule post.
A progress bar reads Scheduling your post…, then you see Successfully scheduled on the platforms you selected. The calendar on the right jumps to the month of your post and shows it on its day.
Post right away
Once an account is chosen, a second button appears under Schedule post. It names your platforms, for example Post now to Discord + Bluesky. Click it to publish immediately instead of scheduling. You see Publishing your post…, then Successfully posted on the platforms you selected.
What happens when your X post has a link
X shows posts with links to fewer people. When your X post contains a link and you click Schedule post or the post-now button, a dialog titled Your X post contains a link asks what to do:
- Post the link as a reply: the link appears right under your post. This gives the best reach.
- Just remove the link: the post goes out without it.
Click Continue to go ahead, or Go back & edit to change your post.
Edit a scheduled post
- In the calendar on the right, click the post you want to change. Use the arrows beside the month name to find it. Hovering over a chip shows "Click to edit this post".
- The composer title changes from New post to Edit scheduled post. Make your changes.
- Click Update post.
To leave without saving, click Cancel edit. To remove the post, click Delete post and confirm. Deleting can't be undone.
Other chips on the calendar behave differently:
- A chip with a check mark is already posted. Click it to see where it went live.
- A chip starting with "Draft ·" has a dashed outline. Click it to open Edit draft. To send it out, approve it from Scheduled Posts.
- A chip saying "Publishing…" is going out right now and can't be opened until it finishes.
- Failed posts don't show on this calendar. Fix them from Scheduled Posts. See Manage scheduled and published posts.
If an edited post's date has passed, pick a new day and time before you save.
Troubleshooting
Nothing happens when I click Schedule post
An empty post is ignored without a message. Add text or media, turn on at least one account under Publish to, and try again. If a panel such as TikTok or Pinterest asks for a choice (privacy, board, blog), fill it in first. Any other problem with the post appears as a red message above the buttons.
I don't see an account I connected
Only accounts that can take your post type are shown. Change the Post type, or check the account on the Connections page. If you picked a Social set, switch back to All accounts.
I don't see one of my team's accounts
Team sets show only the accounts the owner lets the team post to. Ask the team owner to let the team post to that account. Also check that the Post type can go to that platform, or switch back to All accounts to see your own accounts.
The team has no accounts its members can post to yet
The team's set has nothing you can publish to. Ask the owner to add an account or to let the team post to one, or switch back to All accounts. Shopify stores in a team set don't appear here, because they post with each member's own connection.
No publishing accounts connected yet
Connect an account first. The message links to Connections, and the guides in Before you start explain how.
Up to 4 images per post. / One video per post. / Videos up to 200MB.
You hit a media limit. Remove files you don't need, or use a smaller video.
Video upload failed — check your connection and try again.
The video didn't upload. Check your connection and add it again.
No boards found, or the store has no blogs
Pinterest needs at least one board and Shopify needs at least one blog. Create one on that platform, then reopen the composer.
Couldn't reach Pinned to save this change. Check your connection and try again.
Your change wasn't saved. When this happens while editing, your post comes back into the editor as you wrote it. Reconnect and click Update post again.

The post was edited from another tab or device. You now see the latest version, so make your change again.
This post was deleted somewhere else, so your edit wasn't saved.
The post no longer exists. Write it again as a new post if you still want it out.
This post is publishing right now — it can't be changed until it finishes.
Wait for the post to finish publishing. Then open it from the calendar or from Scheduled Posts.
